Diamond Head Real Estate

Diamond Head or "Mount Leahi" is the most recognized and photographed landmark in Hawaii.  It wasn't until the 19th century that Mount Leahi got its current name: A group of sailors found what they thought were diamonds in the crater; it turned out they were just worthless calcite crystals (limestone).  In any event, the name Diamond Head stuck.  Some of Diamond Head's attractions include:
hiking the trail up Diamond Head crater, watching the windsurfers and whales off the Diamond Head lookout, the beaches, Kapiolani Park and the annual Crater Festival.  Diamond Head is a great location for an active lifestyle.  The islands top runners, triathletes, swimmers and paddlers us it as their training ground.  The natural beauty doesn't seem to hurt either.  A crater surrounded by a gorgeous ocean.....

Diamond Head and Kahala have been considered "the place to be" for luxury real estate on Oahu.  Some of the famous names that chose Diamond Head as their home over the years have been some of Hawaii's most famous Icons: the late
Duke Kahanamoku, Doris Duke, and Don Ho.  Today it is the home to many of the "movers and shakers" of Honolulu, CEO's of corporations, second or vacation homeowners, and most importantly local kamaaina families.  A single family fixer upper will start around $1.5 Million and run up to about $12 Million.  In the Diamond Head condo market, 1 bedroom condo in Pualei Circle start in the $300,000 range to as high as $4.5 Million for a Gold Coast
penthouse.
